Mr. Mitchell S. Griffin, one of the founding partners of Cox, Wootton, Griffin, Hansen & Poulos, LLP, specializes in maritime and insurance matters, including insurance coverage disputes.

Mr. Griffin has over 20 years experience in complex trials and appellate matters in both federal and state courts. He represents a variety maritime and non-maritime clients, including marine and inland underwriters and companies involved in various modes of transportation (marine, rail, truck, and air) in matters concerning property damage, personal injuries, contract disputes and insurance coverage.

Mr. Griffin has been a member of the State Bar of California since 1984, is admitted to all federal trial courts in California, the federal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is an associate member of the Maritime Law Association of the U.S. (1988 - present), and the San Francisco Marine Exchange (1990 - present). Mr. Griffin is an associate member of the Association of Marine Underwriters of San Francisco (1988 - present) and served as the President of the San Francisco Marine Claims Association (1985) and as its Vice President (1984). Mr. Griffin is also a member of the San Francisco and American Bar Associations.

Mr. Griffin was recently recognized as being among the top 5 percent of Northern California attorneys in his practice area in Northern California Super Lawyers magazine.
